Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream

I have many foundations, in fact far too many! Its an addiction, I am always on the hunt for that perfect air brush finish base, my hunt will probably never end and I have a number of beautiful favorite foundations which tick all the boxes. Yet, I am still not satisfied, does any one else have this problem? just me?

Well over the last month or so I have fallen in love with a new base product...let me tell you more.

The Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream has been hyped about in the blogging world and being the easily sold blogger I am I had to give it a try. 

I will be totally honest I have never really understood the BB or CC obsession, its just a tinted moisturizer with a fancy name right? Well that was until now, oh my gosh I adore this CC cream. I purchased this in the shade rose beige for £10.99 from boots. 

The Bourjois CC cream has three colour correcting pigments that smooth away imperfections, apricot pigments to combat anti fatigue, green pigmentation to get rid of redness and finally white pigment to banish dark spots. Sounds like a miracle formula for a base product. 

This CC cream has a thin runny like consistency, I have been using my real techniques buffing brush to buff this into the skin, which I find blends really evenly into the skin. The consistency of this formula could definitely be blended in with fingers but if your a regular reader of my blog you will know I cant use my fingers to apply make up, its a germ thing.

Even though this is a light coverage base I was surprised how much it covered and perfected my skin. I get redness particularly around my cheeks and nose and this took away all the redness and dark circles under my eyes, it has good staying power and lasted a good 7 hours on my skin. I probably touched up with powder once in the middle of the day but this is quite normal for skin. 

The CC cream left my skin perfected and even, leaving it looking fresh and awake with a natural and radiant glow. Its basically your skin but better.

This formula actually really reminds of  the ultra light Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, which is probably one of my favorite foundations ever, I have probably gone through four bottles, so that's probably why I adore this CC cream so much. 

I have literally used this CC cream everyday since I purchased it back in February and I can safely say I will be repurchasing again once this bottle runs out and I cant recommend it enough, seeing as my other foundations have sat unused and abandoned.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Once upon a time there was a little product called Bioderma, the beauty world fell in love with this micellar water biased cleanser and its gentle yet effective formula. Then all over the skin care departments different versions of micellar water began popping up everywhere and thus began the battle of the Micellar waters, but who will win? 

I  too have had a good love affair with bioderma, but even though it's now more readily available in the UK it's still not as easy as popping to your nearest Boots (other chemist like shops are available) and it's still rather pricey. 

So when my last bottle of bioderma ran out I thought it was time to test a new product, I had heard nothing but good things about the Garnier micellar water cleanser and for £4.99 for a mahoosive bottle it was too much of a bargain too pass up. 

To cut a long story short, I love this product. I have used it in the morning to clense and last thing at night to remove all my make up. I use two cotton pads and all my make up, including eye make up is removed and leaves my face really clean, soft and smooth, and didn't irritate 

 or cause redness on my super sensitive skin.  

The bottle has a clever flip caps so there is no spillage or waste of product. I recently borrowed some of my friends L'Oreal micellar water and I haven't used it enough to comment on its formula but the flow top meant my cotton pad was literally drowned in the stuff, which is a slight waste. So I think Garnier have defintly got the thumbs up with the packaging. 

Overall I am really impressed with this micellar cleansing water and would defintly repurchase over bioderma, yes that is a strong statement to make. I just think for £4.99 it's much cheaper, you get a lot of product, the forumal is very similar and it does the same job. So I would really recommend this little gem and will be repurchasing.

Tanya Burr Lip Glosses

Unless you have been hibernating over winter you will probably all have heard that the Tanya Burr, beauty blogger and Youtuber has launched her very own Lip gloss and Nail varnish range, if you didn’t know get yourself over the Feelunique.co.ukright now and take a look.

I haven’t been buying any make up recently (because I own enough to open a store at the moment), but I just couldn’t resist this new collection by Tanya. Yes I have terribly will power...I hold my hands up, but they were just too beautiful to resist. 

Tanya was the first YouTuber I ever watched, I learnt so many make up tricks and tips from her and it was from watching her tutorials that my love of beauty world began. Role on two years later and I am addicted to watching beauty gurus on YouTube, reading blog posts and I write my own blog. Ok, so I am not saying this happened all because of the beautiful Miss Burr, I have always loved the world of makeup and beauty, but without a doubt watching Tanya and reading her blog posts was a pinnacle moment in me thinking about my own journey into the world of beauty bloggers, so how could I not purchase at least one….or maybe two of her products.

Tanya’s lip glosses and nail varnishes are available on the Feel unique website and will be coming to Superdrug stores very soon, the lip glosses cost £6.99 and the nail varnishes cost £5.99. 

I decided to try two of the lip glosses, I spent ages swooning and gazing at the stunning array of shades and the cutely named products, (my favourite has to be the Harry Potter themed mischief managed, how adorable is that). Tanya handpicked the names herself and I think they capture her fun and bubbly personality perfectly.

I decided to go with the shades ‘Afternoon Tea’ and ‘Aurora’, both pink toned shades, yes I know more pink in my collection, but you can never have too much pink, right? Afternoon tea is a more creamy consistency and aurora has a shimmery glitter pigmented finish. 

 I was so excited when I received my glosses, but like a good blogger I snapped some pictures of the super pretty packaging for you.

The glosses glide onto the lips beautiful, they aren’t sticky and left my lips feeling moisturised and hydrated, the formula has a high shine finish and isn’t too sheer and has just the right amount of colour pigmentation that they can either be worn alone or on top of a lipstick.

The applicator is sponge doe foot style wand which makes application nice and easy and gives the lips a glossy wet look.

I also had the mention these glosses smell divine, I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly it reminds me off, but they smell so sweet and yummy, almost good enough to eat…..but please don’t, it would only be a waste of a beautiful gloss.

So if you haven’t noticed I have fallen head over heels in love with these glosses, I think my favourite is aurora I have literally been wearing it everyday, its just the perfect every day pink gloss. I can’t wait to try some more shades. I would love to know if you have tried any of the Tanya Burr range and your thoughts.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation

So today I thought I would share my thoughts on the ever popular Silk Creme Foundation by Laura Mercier.

There has been so much hype about this famous foundation and it had been on the top of my wish list for almost a year, but with the hefty price tag of £33 I just couldn't justify spending this much on a 35ml of foundation. Well that all changed about 6 weeks ago when I innocently walked around House of Fraser and found myself browsing the Laura Mercier counter, and before long the very helpful sales assistant matched me up to the shade rose ivory, which is a perfect shade for my skin and well the rest is history......

I am a total foundation junkie, I have tried and tested bottle after bottle of foundation trying to find the perfect foundation for my skin, and I have to say the silk creme foundation is at the top of my collection, closely followed by Clinque 'Even better foundation', but this little beauty has definitely become my holy grail foundation. 

The foundation is an innovative full coverage formula with a special collection of silk proteins, tea extracts and treated mica. I found the consistency of the silk creme foundation to be thick and creamy with an almost mouse like texture which feels like pure luxury on my skin. What I love about this foundation is yes it's full coverage and covers my blemishes perfectly, leaving my skin looking even and smooth (no concealer needed) but unlike most full coverage foundations it's not cakey at all and leaves my skin looking natural, hydrated and with a satin finish

Okay so this foundation will tug at your purse strings, however it's so highly pigmented a little really does go along way. I only use a pea size amount of this foundation then apply with my fingers and blend in with my real techniques expert face brush, which gives the perfect finish for my combination skin.I have been using this nearly every day since I bought it and the bottle still feels full, so it lasts really well.  I find if I finish with powder, this foundation lasts all day. I have also noticed over the last six weeks of using this foundation I have actually not had any break outs, which is so unlike my skin as most full coverage foundations (Mac I am looking at you) make my skin break out, so another tick for the silk creme foundation. 

So overall I absolutely adore this foundation it is a real luxury product which works so well for skin, yes it's on the high end pricey side but I think it's totally worth the price tag and I will definitely be repurchasing this little beauty. Nearly Naked.......

So Summer is around the corner, and hopefully warmer weather on the way. Now in Summer time I like try and tone done my full coverage make up slightly to a more natural look. So I have been on the look out for a foundation that can help achieve this fresh faced look, and what could be better then Revelon's Nearly Naked range? I bought the foundation and matching powder while on one of my (many) shopping trips to Boots, and become very found of the combination of the two.

The Nearly Naked foundation is light coverage, but i do find it is build-able to medium coverage finish. I love how easy the light texture of this product blends into my skin, i have been using a real techniques stippling brush to apply. I don't really like using my hands or sponges to apply make up and find foundation brushes give an overall better finish. I almost feel like the foundation melts into my skin, but doesn't leave my face looking like its greasy like I find some lighter base foundations do.

The foundation really lives up to its name in that in literally feels like I'm not wearing anything, but yet still achieves an even skin tone and covers redness. I did find I had to use a bit of concealer on any blemishes, but i expected that with it being a lighter based foundation. I used the light weight powder to finish of the naked look. I found the combination of the two lasts throughout the day and I only had to re powder my face after 8 hours of wear, when I was leaving work, so I was really impressed with how the products kept all day.

The foundation also contains SPF 20. I am sure I don't need to bang on about the importance of protecting our faces from the sun, but I am always really keen on foundation that have added SPF generally because I always forget to put on sun screen unless I am on holiday so it's nice to let the foundation do the work for you. I think this will be a perfect foundation for the warmer seasons, it gives a perfect ' no make up' look if like me your not quite confident enough to go totally naked.

Overall I love this foundation it got a lovely light texture to it, which glides effortlessly into my skin. It leaves my skin looking glowing and bright and lasts all day. My only slight complaint is the packaging. I am not a fan of foundations that you have to pour out the bottle. I much prefer a pump application as it eliminates mess and product waste. So with that in mind I am rating this foundation a 9 out of 10.

Mac Archie's Girls

Like many make up and MAC lovers , I have been extremely excited about the MAC’s Archie Girls Collection. The collection is biased on Veronica and Betty, two best friends and rivals competing for the love of Archie.  The collection has a variety of products, there are some general ‘Archie’s girls’ pieces and the collection is split to portray each girls persona. Betty is a sweet, blonde haired girl next door, and the Betty collection is full of pale and soft pastels. Veronica on the other hand is Brunette spoilt rich girl, the Veronica collection captures her character in seductive dark tones.

 The collection came out in the US at the start of February and the blogging and Youtube world has gone MAC and Archie crazy. Of course all this hype meant I spent lots of time reading and watching. reviews from lots of on line beauty gurus, some what heightened my excitement. After the press release I had a pretty good idea of the products I wanted to purchase and was very impatiently sitting tight, waiting for the UK towards the end of February. That was until one of my friends told me Selfridges was exclusively launching the collection early. So I headed straight over to the on line store and made my purchases.

I managed to somewhat restrain my spending and purchased four items of the collection. Now being a blonde girly girl, I was instantly attracted to the shades and colours of Betty collection. So I decided to go for the Betty Lipstick in girl next door, the Betty Lips glass in stay sweet and the Betty pigment in Cheers my dears, just need to add how cute the names of the products are.  Finally I couldn't resist the beautiful Pearlmatte face powder. 

I am huge lipstick lover, I have an array of colours in my collection, but I mostly opt for nudes of pinks. So this lipstick was very me. It’s a blue tone pink Lustre lipstick. I love the finish and tone of this lipstick, its the perfect cute pink shade, I found just a couple of coats of this lipstick really changed the effect so you can switch up the look of this lipstick with a few coats.  The gloss in stay sweet and girls next door and the perfect colour combination to achieve a pink lipped  look. It also would look lovely on its own if you wanted a more natural look. I was also impressed with the pigment, I am not a huge fan of pigments as I find them a bit messy but I loved the lavender pink colour of this. Its really pigmented and the finish it really strong. I don't own many eye shadows this shade so I am sure this will be well used.

I am in love with the  pearlmatte face powder. Firstly it looks so cute with the pink hearts embedded in the powder, so cute actually I almost didn't want to use it. When i did though I was so impressed with the colour, I would personally use this as a highlighter along the top of my cheek bones as it has a high shimmer finish. I love the pink highlighter glow it gives me cheek and the name describes it perfectly with its pearly glow.

Now I can’t do this review and not mention the packaging. The packaging is a real switch up from MAC’s usual black statement to comic book style white with reds and pinks.  I love the retro and colourful packaging and I have to admit it this distinctive and unique packaging that initially caught my eye with this collection.

Overall I am really impressed with the Archie’s Girls collection, I adore the colours and shades used to illustrate the different identities of two girls and I think there are some really good quality products on offer.  The collection is now available on the MAC website, they have also realized some exclusive products to this collection  available only to MAC, I am trying very hard not to buy the brush set along with a few other pieces I have my eye on such as the Betty bright lipstick and the Ice cream sundae eye shadow set, but if I want to have any kind of social life this month I will have tor restrain myself.
